How it works

⭕️ The sensor, once positioned and calibrated, allows to detect the presence of vehicles parked in the parking space.

⭕️ The technology tracks the changes in the earth’s magnetic field generated by the presence of a calibrated iron mass of an object such as vehicle.

⭕️ The free/busy status is then transmitted by radio, by a communication network, to the central server.

⭕️ From the central server POLIS management software will process by combining data with any payment transaction and make them available to all stakeholders.

Privacy

Maximum privacy protection is certainly an unavoidable aspect for any technological system that manages personal data.

The sensor tracks an anonymous data on the basis of the changes in the earth’s magnetic field, unlike cameras that can only record images.

A very human parking sensor

Thanks to its communication systems it can be used for recognition, through smartphones and App, of persons authorized to use that kind of specific parking place.

For example disabled persons, authorized person for loading and unloading, residents, other specific categories.

Economical and practical

The installation is therefore extremely economical and practical: it is not necessary to break roads for cable laying.

The result thus obtained become guarantor of the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists who don’t run the risk of tripping, falling or be hurt.

Doesn’t require wiring and is positioned under the asphalt with a simple drilling operation.

After being buried in the road surface turns out to be completely invisible.

Advanced communications

It can also be equipped with a radio device that communicates directly with the Bluetooth of the common smartphones currently on the market.

This device allows to receive directly in the App the number of the parking place where the car is parked without the need of typing it manually.

FAQ

Which other devices could be used to receive data from the parking bay?

Cameras are a valid detection system that allows you to receive data and insert them into our Smart Parking Systems.

In the commercial installations we have made, we have always evaluated the most advantageous opportunity for our client, who according to the type of territory must use an appropriate technology.

An example is the case of open spaces that are not covered by obstacles which therefore offer good visibility of the manned area: in this case we recommend using the camera.

Why not visible sensors or flush sensors?

The so-called “sensors at sight” or “flush”, are devices that can, in fact, use different detection technologies (magnetic, infrared, radar, etc.). They are not efficient because:

  • can be damaged by vandalism:
  • can create problems for pedestrians, cycles, motorcycles;
  • the aesthetic impact may conflict;
  • difficult road maintenance;
  • asphalting is impossible.
